Sun Culture relishes starting fresh without staring from scratch.
When I parted ways with my label after my first major release, I was discouraged. I had given it everything I had, and I felt like I had come up short. I was happy to take a role behind the scenes and began working on other artists’ releases, honing my skills as a writer and producer. I didn’t think much about any my own music.
Then one day, something amazing happened. I woke up with the most incredible urge to create again. At first I was terrified, but slowly I began to remember why I started playing music in the first place. The songs I worked on eventually became a new project called Sun Culture, and I couldn’t be more proud of how it all turned out.
The second time around can be scary, but it’s also exhilarating. I was able to start fresh, but I wasn’t starting from scratch. I had gained years of experience and knowledge the first time around, and now I am getting to experience it all again from a new perspective. The second time around is a gift because it’s an opportunity to fall in love for the first time again.
